Alice Shalvi Interview with Bet Debora

Alice Shalvi, born in Germany in 1926, raised in England and living in Israel since 1950 was a professor of English literature at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and of Ben Gurion University of the Negev. She was also active in progressive education of girls and one of the founders of the Israel Women’s Network, a think tank and advocacy organization for the rights of women. In addition Alice Shalvi cooperated with Palestinian women in order to advance better understanding and coexistence of Jews and Palestinians.
